In March 2025, the IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering will (TSE) celebrate its 50th anniversary as a premier publication venue for advances in the field. IEEE TSE is the flagship and most prestigious journal in software engineering. They will mark the occasion with a special March 2025 anniversary issue dedicated to reflecting on the journal’s past, present and future.

Insight’s Boualem Benatallah (pictured) and his co-authors have been invited to participate in this issue. Their paper; QoS-aware middleware for Web services composition; has been selected by TSE’s editorial board as one of the most influential of TSE’s third decade, attracting more than 4000 citations.

‘This paper is dedicated to the memory of our colleague, Henry Chang, who was co-author of the 2004 article and whose contributions have left an imprint on the fields of software engineering and distributed systems.’
