Natural Language Processing

I am a Research Associate at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at the University of Galway, working in the Unit for Natural Language Processing (UNLP) under the supervision of Prof. Paul Buitelaar. My primary focus is on ontology learning, knowledge graph generation, relation extraction, named-entity recognition, text analysis, and information extraction.

Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with industry leaders such as Huawei, the EU, Tr3dent, and the University of Galway on a variety of projects, including intent classification, knowledge graph generation, automatic SDG mapping and suggestion extraction for PANDEM-2.

I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Galway, where I concentrated on deep learning techniques for NLP tasks. My “Deep Learning Model for Automatic Term Recognition” thesis involved leveraging BERT embeddings and the EEAP model to enhance term recognition processes.

Before pursuing my MSc, I worked as a Software Engineer at Intel Technologies and CGI Group Inc., where I gained experience with Java, Agile, Scrum, and CI/CD practices.

I have published papers in the field, including:
– “Automatic Knowledge Graph Generation Tool Facilitating Intent Classification Using Domain-Specific Knowledge” in MDPI Special Issue on Knowledge Graph Technology and Applications II.
– “Encoder-Attention-Based Automatic Term Recognition (EA-ATR)” presented at LDK 3rd Conference, Zaragoza, Spain.
