Dr Luciana Herda joined Insight in August 2022 as a Research Integration Coordinator. Her primary responsibility is leading project management and administration across multiple research projects.
Previously, Luciana managed two large consortia, the BactiVax Training Network (EU-funded) and the BREAST-PREDICT cancer research centre, a large-scale collaborative programme that received €7.5 million in funding from the Irish Cancer Society.
Luciana obtained a degree in Pharmacy from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Bucharest, Romania) and an MSc in Drug Discovery and Development from University College London School of Pharmacy. Following this, Luciana joined the Centre for Bio-Nano Interactions (University College Dublin) in December 2013 as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher, part of the PathChooser ITN programme. Her PhD, completed in 2017, focused on strategies to design functionalised nanoparticles that target and cross the blood- brain barrier. She also holds PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner certifications in project management.
