Researchers from the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and the SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence will present an AI interactive showcase as part of the Cork Science Festival on Sunday 13 November.
This interactive activity will showcase an artificial intelligence tool called DALL-E which is an AI system that creates realistic images and art from a textual description. Researchers will also demonstrate the simple description of the biomechanics of walking and human activity monitoring using wearable sensors. They will also make a ramp walking toy to explain the mechanics of walking.
Researchers will also demonstrate the principles of computer science in a way that is accessible and fun for primary school-aged children through the use of paper-based puzzles and games in the spirit of the CS-Unplugged initiative.
Visitors will get the chance to meet researchers from the two centres to learn more about their research.
No registration required.
Time: 11:00 – 17:00
Venue: Western Gateway Building, UCC, Western Rd, Mardyke, Cork
