Naadiya joined Insight in May 2023 as Centre Manager for Insight@DCU. As Center Manager, Naadiya leads the Insight@DCU Operations team and oversees all operation functions of the Centre. Her team supports Insight’s researchers with funding sustainability planning, project management, public engagement and troubleshooting. She liaises closely with industry and international strategic partners to facilitate full engagement with the Insight research programme. Working closely with the Insight@DCU Director and other senior management across Insight, she is involved in formulating and implementing a strategic vision for the Centre.
Naadiya attained her PhD in cardiovascular biology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2014, and then pursued her academic career in cardiovascular immunology in University of Toronto, Canada, where she successfully attained a fellowship from the Canadian Blood Services. In 2017, Naadiya joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia, in Research administration leadership positions with her most recent role being interim Director of the University Communications Department.
Naadiya is a senior research and communications professional with extensive international experience in implementing global strategies; disseminating science and innovation; identifying areas and opportunities to translate research; driving the creation of platforms that will enhance the ability to engage national and international stakeholders and building partnerships across academia, government and industry to address national priorities and global challenges.
