The Tyndall National Institute MicroTIPs team, including Conor O’Mahony and Ryan Sebastian (pictured), was delighted to accept an Innovation Award at the
EARTOAwards24 in Brussels this week.As a shortlisted finalist in the ‘Impact Expected’ category, EARTO Secretariat recognised the significant potential of the Micro Transdermal Interface Platforms technology, which is based around the merger of microneedles with sensors and actuators to create minimally invasive devices for use in next-generation transdermal delivery and diagnostics.
The MicroTIPs platform is underpinned by years of effort from Tyndall research and support teams, and has been strongly backed by Irish funding agencies Enterprise Ireland and Insight Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics as well as numerous EU projects including ELSAH – H2020 European Research Project, Health.E, Newlife Chips JU Project, UNLOOC Chips JU Project, and FORTIFIEDx.
