ASGARD, an EU collaborative research project, in which Insight is a partner, has won the Collaborative Innovative Technology Award Security Innovation Award at the 2022 Security Innovation Awards.
These awards highlight the importance of EU-funded research in the field of Civil Security, and rewards great examples of security research uptake. The award was presented in Brussels on the 5th of October.
ASGARD has developed a cutting-edge tool set for analyzing and extracting big data for Law Enforcement Agencies, facilitating forensic investigations, and significantly increasing overall analytical capabilities.
Insight’s Dr Suzanne Little explained how Insight was involved. “DCU contributed our expertise on content analytics for images and video, developing tools for extracting descriptive information from photographs and video footage and adding them to the overall ASGARD pipeline with the aim of improving support for forensic investigations. We were also an enthusiastic participant in the regular hackathons run by the project that linked end users and technical developers to better understand the needs and requirements.”
