Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics recently launched its Insight Visitor Programme at Dublin City University (DCU), bringing together internationally esteemed experts in the field of data analytics and related disciplines. The inaugural programme featured two distinguished guests/collaborators, Prof Boualem Benatallah and Prof Fabio Casati, who shared their valuable expertise and innovative discoveries with the researchers at the recent seminar.
Our speaker Prof Boualem Benatallah, a distinguished Professor of Computing at DCU, with an impressive academic background and extensive expertise in various fields, delivered the enlightening talk; “Conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enabled Services and Processes: Opportunities, Challenges, and Directions” that holds great importance for Insight researchers.
With over 21 years of experience as a senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, and Scientia professor at UNSW Sydney, Australia, Prof Benatallah has left an indelible mark on the academic landscape. Now, as a prominent figure at DCU, he continues to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.
During his talk, Prof Benatallah shed light on the vast opportunities and challenges presented by conversational AI-enabled services and processes. Insight Researchers gained valuable insights into the current state of the field, its potential applications, and the future directions it may take.
The second guest speaker, Prof Fabio Casati, brought his expertise in machine learning and AI to the seminar and spoke about “Responsible Enterprise AI in the era of powerful models”. Prof Casati currently serves as a Principal Machine Learning Architect at ServiceNow, where he also leads the AI Trust and Governance group in the company’s research division. His work primarily revolves around the application of AI to workflows and ensuring quality in AI implementations. Prof Casati shared his extensive knowledge and insights on AI advancements, offering valuable perspectives on the integration of AI in data analytics workflows.
