A new series of weekly coding workshops for pre-teen children staying in direct provision will commence during the Galway Science and Technology Festival.

The first workshop will be held at 4pm Thursday November 23rd at the Eglinton Direct Provision Centre in Salthill.

Over the four weekly sessions, the young participants will be taught how to create their own adventure stories and computer games, as well as to code a maths lesson.

Insight EPE Manager Brendan Smyth will be using Scratch and Python to get the young coders started.
