Alan Reidy is currently a research assistant in the Applied Innovations team at Insight, University of Galway.
He completed a Higher Diploma in software design and development from the University of Galway in 2021 and joined Insight as an intern through this course.
Alan’s current research center’s around applying machine learning methods to derive meaningful insights from data.
His current project at insight is with industry collaborator, Aro Digital Strategy to aid them with implementing machine learning processes into a hotel analytics dashboard.
Past projects at Insight include helping improve the Streamair (Real time weather forecasting) dashboard, while future projects include work with industry collaborator Connacht Rugby.
Alan’s research interests include machine learning modelling for revenue/demand predictions, deriving feature importance, model selection, Generating synthetic data, creating dashboards using react, python and database systems.
