Dr. Denise McGrath is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, University College Dublin and an SFI Funded Investigator with the Insight Centre for Data Analytics. Dr. McGrath’s applied health-related research focuses on optimising quality of life, decision-making and well-being across the lifespan. She has worked at the interface of healthcare, industry, academia and the community in the development of clinically valid, effective, ‘Connected Health’ based solutions. Her research in the sporting domain leverages her understanding of innovative technologies and analyses techniques applied to the investigation of movement at micro and macro levels with the goal of enhancing sports performance. She embraces interdisciplinarity in both education and research as a conduit for creative thinking and innovation. Dr. McGrath is also chair of Insight’s Education and Public Engagement committee, reflecting another of her research interests: knowledge integration and co-production.
