Huan Chen is a research assistant in the Applied Innovations team at Insight, University of Galway. Her research currently focuses on explainable recommendations based on knowledge graphs. She also studied automated machine learning, using the genetic algorithm to do hyperparameter optimization and model selection.
Huan completed her BE in Software Engineering at Changchun University and she graduated with an MSc in Computer Science from University College Dublin in 2020. Her MSc graduation dissertation research combines the traditional recommendation method with deep learning technology to build an accurate, efficient recommendation model. She also contributed to the research Automated Climate Analyses Using Knowledge Graph before she joined insight. She currently has a particular interest in recommender systems, automated machine learning processes, and natural language processing.
