I am a PhD researcher in Natural Language Processing at the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and the School of Information and Communications at the University College Dublin. My research interests are social biases in natural language processing, the connection between language and gender, feminist linguistics, and how these aspects factor into the framework of ethical artificial intelligence. My Ph.D. project focuses on the impact of gender-inclusive training data on gender stereotyping in large-scale textual AI models.
I hold a joint M.Sc. and M.A. degree in Language and Communication Technologies from the University of Malta and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands as well as a B.A. in Empiric Linguistics and English from the University of Kiel in Germany.
