Michele joined Insight on 30th September 2024 as Centre Manager for Insight@DCU for the next year. As Centre Manager, Michele leads the Insight@DCU Operations team and oversees all Centre operation functions, her team supports Insight’s researchers with funding sustainability planning, project management, public engagement and troubleshooting. Michele liaises closely with industry and international strategic partners to facilitate full engagement with the Insight research programme. Working closely with the Insight@DCU Director, Professor Tomas Ward, and other senior management across Insight, she delivers operational excellence for the Centre at DCU.
Michele’s dedication to her work is evident in her long-standing role as Faculty Manager in Engineering and Computing, a position she has held since November 2005. Even in her spare time, she continues to contribute to her field by pursuing a Doctorate at the DCUIOE.
Michele has served on several university-level committees and is currently a member of the DCU Governing Authority. Previously, Michele was a member of the Self-Assessment Team working on the Athena Swan – EDI application for DCU and DCU Executive. Over her career to date, Michele has served as a member of the Institutional Review 2018 – CINNTE Steering group and as a composite part of the Quality Promotions Committee [2014 – 2017]. A conscientious citizen of the DCU community, Michele has worked actively to support the University in carrying out the role of rapporteur for the University’s Library Quality review in 2015, which took place at a time when the University was in the process of incorporation.
Michele promotes change and promotes equality and contributed as a member of the Women in Leadership Working Group [2016 to 2020].
Prior to joining DCU, Michele was the Academic Services Manager at Queen Mary University of London. A Senior Administrator working across several activities under higher education’s academic affairs and research aspects, which included working on the internationalisation strategy and supporting the joint programme across the QMUL, UK and China. Michele has an extensive background working in HEIs in the UK and Ireland. This role is a long-term ambition, and Michele looks forward to engaging internally and externally with the INSIGHT community and DCU to support it’s strategic goals.
