My background is in literary studies, particularly the work of James Joyce, which was the focus of the PhD that I completed at University College London in 2022. Prior to doing my PhD, I worked as a Bid Writer for a large recruitment company in the UK, writing proposals to win contracts for the business. I have also worked as a teacher within further and higher education at various points in my career.
I’ve lived away from Ireland for the past decade, first in France and then in London. I’m (unsurprisingly given my background) very interested in literature and the arts in general and am also a passionate Irish speaker. While in London, I was a volunteer with Conradh na Gaeilge, promoting the language in the city and in the UK more broadly. Being from from Co. Clare, I’m a long-suffering hurling supporter as well as a traditional music enthusiast – all the clichés holding true in this case! I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the team at Insight.
