Dr Nic Wilson is a Senior Research Fellow at Insight, Cork, a position he has held since 2013. From 2009-2013 he was an SFI Principal Investigator on a project on reasoning with preferences in multi-variate problems; from 2012 to 2015 he also had a part-time professor position at Queen’s University Belfast. Previously he has held senior research fellow positions at Keele University and Oxford Brookes University, UK. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Artificial Intelligence journal and has been on the senior programme committee of all the IJCAI conferences (International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence) since 2009. He is the co-inventor of two patent applications, and has around ninety peer-reviewed publications including a total of 26 full papers at the prestigious IJCAI, AAAI and ECAI conferences. He has had more than 30 years experience of researching in Artificial Intelligence, with particular expertise in reasoning and optimisation with preferences and uncertainty, including applications to supply chain optimisation, transportation logistics, recommender systems, telecommunications personalisation and intelligent building operation.
