Samuele is an accomplished Associate Researcher with extensive experience in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning. Currently, Samuele is working at the University of Galway, where they are deeply involved in the Data Space and Foundational Model Project. This role allows Samuele to harness their expertise and passion for data science and AI to contribute to cutting-edge research and innovation.
Samuele has been a valued member of The Data Science Institute (DSI) at the University of Galway since December 2021. In this capacity, they played a pivotal role in the CLARIFY project, a European initiative aimed at advancing personalized medicine through AI-driven solutions. Their contributions to the project were integral to its success, reflecting their deep knowledge and skill in deep learning and machine learning technologies.
In addition to their work at the University of Galway, Samuele participated in a four-month secondment with the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Ireland from July to October 2023. During this period, they contributed to the “Automated Extraction of Kidney Failure Concepts from Clinical Notes Using Artificial Intelligence” project. This collaboration with HSE underscores Samuele’s commitment to applying AI in healthcare to improve patient outcomes and advance medical research.
