A fascinating new study from Insight features in the Irish Independent today, bringing new insights to the Covid pandemic. The study, which was published in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society found that a small proportion of people with Covid are responsible for spreading most Covid infections. Between 65pc and 80pc of individuals are unlikely to pass on the disease, the study found.
The study was carried out by Prof Nial Friel and Dr Joe Meagher (pictured L-R). Friel said, “Understanding the mechanism of super-spreading and modelling the spread of disease is vital to ensure that we are well placed to manage and respond to future epidemics.”
