Oscar Manzano joined 4C in 2006 as a Software Engineer and since then he has been involved in national and international projects and participated in several publications with senior researchers.
He took part on the TRIO project funded by Enterprise Ireland and produced the first working prototype for the Irish company Treemetrics LTD. At the European level, he took part in two EU funded projects for different industries: manufacturing (EMPOSME) and forestry (FLEXWOOD).
Among other achievements, in EMPOSME project (Enterprise Modelling& Performance Optimisation for SME’s) a translation software was created that integrated two CP approaches within a single user interface (ILOG + SICSTUS).
In FLEXWOOD project (Flexible Wood Supply Chain) the first online pan-european forest harvest simulator was technically designed and a working demo delivered.
Other interesting projects where he also participated were the CP-Inside project, which a Google Calendar Meeting Scheduler Administrator was developed, and TalkingShop, a conversational recommender system for configurable products, where the UI was rebuilt.
Authentic (Autonomic Home Area Network Infrastructure), which sought to design and deliver a Home Area Network (HAN) infrastructure capable of supporting opportunistic decision making pertaining to
effective energy management within the home.
GENiC, which developed a novel scalable, integrated management and control platform for data centre wide optimisation of energy consumption by integrating monitoring and control of the primary data centre energy producing/consuming components: computation, communication, and data storage, cooling, local power generation, energy storage, and waste heat recovery.
