Wassim is a postdoctoral researcher at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, National University of Ireland, Galway. In 2004 he was a awarded a diploma in higher technological studies from Tunisia with a distinguishing presidential prize for being the laureate of the country. In 2007 and 2008 he was awarded respectively an engineering and a master degree from the most prestigeous IT school in Tunisia (National School of Computer Science) also with a distinguishing presidential prize in 2006 for being the laureate of the country among engineering students of Tunisia.
Wassim started his research at NUIG in 2009 and completed his PhD research in 2016 while working as a Research Engineer and Research Associate since 2013. In his research, he investigated the use of semantic web and related technologies for managing services and business processes applied to the e-government domain, customs clearance procedures and Internet of Things. He also tackled the problem of decision support and data analytics in the area of energy intelligence and smart water management. He is actively involved as a program committee member and reviewer of international conferences and workshops.
